Bookkeeping is the process of tracking all of your company’s financial transactions, usually by entering them into accounting software or a physical set of “books.” It lets you see exactly where your business is spending money, where your revenue is coming from, and which tax deductions you’ll be able to claim.

You can’t run a healthy, successful business without having your books in order. It’s like driving a car without a fuel gauge or a map—sooner or later you’re going to get lost or run out of gas.

While you can change your own oil, it makes a lot more sense to let someone change it for you so you can focus on more important things. Similarly, you should let someone with the skills and know-how take care of your books for you so you can focus on growing your business.
